Project Manager I, II or III
Job Description
Job DescriptionProject Manager I, II, or III
Forged aluminum and titanium parts only matter if they leave the plant on the date, to the print, and ready for the aircraft and defense programs waiting on them. This role owns that promise. You turn orders, routings, and constraints into a plan the floor can run, then keep engineering, production, quality, and the customer aligned until the part ships. Scope grows with level: defined programs at I, concurrent work and tighter customer visibility at II, and ambiguous, high-stakes programs at III.
Performance Objectives
- Set and hold an integrated schedule that meets agreed ship dates for every assigned forging program.
- Catch tooling, material, capacity, and quality risks early enough to recover the milestone, not explain the miss.
- Clear handoffs among engineering, operations, quality, and supply so work does not stall at the press or the dock.
- Give leaders and customers a decision-ready status: done, next, blocked, and the call required.
- When a date slips, publish a revised plan the shop can execute and track recovery to closure.
- At Level II and III, run multiple streams or a flagship account and raise the planning standard for others.
Environment and Resources
You work inside a forging operation that forms, finishes, and certifies aluminum and titanium components for aerospace and defense. Planning, quality, and ERP systems are in place, with schedulers, process engineers, and quality as daily partners. You report to program or operations leadership. Authority, customer contact, and program complexity increase from Level I to Level III; budget influence follows the programs you own.
Essential Qualifications
- Delivered manufacturing or industrial work to a date, cost, and quality target you can describe.
- Can read a schedule, a routing, and a quality hold and name the next action.
- Writes and speaks updates shop leaders and external customers can act on.
- Knows aerospace or defense flow, including change control and traceability.
- Level II or III: has owned concurrent programs or a visible customer account without losing the date.
Why This Role
- The work flies and defends: your plan moves metal into real platforms.
- Aluminum and titanium forging in one plant—process depth, not a remote PMO.
- Level is earned by the scope you can carry, not by time served.
- You see the result on the press, in heat treat, and on the ship dock.
If you can keep a hard manufacturing promise, apply at the level you can own now and show the deliveries that prove it.
