We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our facilities maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal across designated areas.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Handle chemical agents safely in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation protocols.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks following safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or waste.
- Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and other floor care techniques to ensure a polished appearance.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs or hazards promptly to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Follow safety protocol adherence at all times during cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Assist with residential painting or minor maintenance tasks as needed to support overall facility upkeep.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries professionally and ensuring a clean environment for all users.
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, custodial equipment, and chemical handling safety procedures.
- Experience operating floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and other cleaning machinery.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safety protocols diligently.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and facility users.
