Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment used in production within a manufacturing facility. This role performs essential plant maintenance activities, supports heating systems, and ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently under some level of supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment used in production operations.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment used for production processes.
• Perform general plant maintenance tasks that require a solid understanding of facility systems and equipment.
• Carry out heating system maintenance, including routine care and basic repairs of heating systems.
• Perform sheet metal repairs, including basic fabrication and patching as needed.
• Conduct roofing repairs to maintain the integrity and safety of the facility structure.
• Perform sprinkler system maintenance and testing to support proper operation and safety compliance.
• Grease and oil machinery on a regular schedule to ensure smooth operation and extend equipment life.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using schematics and technical documentation.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery and components as part of maintenance and repair activities.
• Work with hydraulic systems, including inspecting, repairing, and replacing valves, hoses, and related components.
• Maintain and repair pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting air leaks and component failures.
• Perform welding tasks as needed to support equipment repair and structural maintenance.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to prioritize and complete maintenance work orders.
• Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while working on all equipment and systems.
• Document maintenance activities accurately and communicate equipment status to supervisors.
• Work under some supervision while demonstrating initiative and sound judgment in daily tasks.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical production equipment.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical production equipment.
• Working knowledge of plant maintenance practices and facility systems.
• Practical experience with hydraulic systems, including valves and related components.
• Experience using hand tools and basic power tools for maintenance and repair work.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes of equipment failures.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
• Experience with mechanical assembly and disassembly of machinery and components.
• Welding experience for equipment and structural repairs.
• Experience with pneumatic systems and components.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks such as greasing and oiling machinery.
• Ability to work under some supervision while completing assigned tasks safely and efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience performing heating system maintenance and basic repairs.
• Experience with sheet metal work and minor fabrication.
• Experience performing roofing repairs in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Experience with sprinkler system maintenance and testing.
• Previous experience working in a metal manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate work with supervisors and team members

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
