Job Description
The Assistant Project Manager supports the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role collaborates closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate schedules, manage costs, and resolve issues, contributing to the successful execution and closeout of each project.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all stages of the project life cycle, from initial planning through execution and closeout.
- Create, manage, and track project budgets to ensure financial performance aligns with project goals.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitoring progress and adjusting timelines as needed.
- Manage the Request for Information (RFI) and submittal processes to ensure timely communication and approvals.
- Support project buyout activities, including securing materials, services, and subcontractors at competitive terms.
- Administer and manage subcontracts, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and subcontractors through clear and professional communication.
- Monitor project costs and prepare regular cost management reports for internal stakeholders.
- Identify, track, and help resolve project issues promptly to minimize impact on schedule and budget.
- Assist in managing project staff, coordinating tasks, and supporting effective team collaboration.
- Lead and coordinate project closeout activities, ensuring all documentation, punch lists, and final deliverables are completed.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated experience in commercial construction projects.
- Strong construction management skills with an understanding of construction processes and workflows.
- Proven project management abilities, including planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple tasks and stakeholders.
- Experience with cost management and budget tracking in a construction environment.
- Ability to create and maintain project schedules and monitor progress against milestones.
- Knowledge of managing RFIs, submittals, and subcontracts within commercial construction projects.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills for working with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Problem-solving skills to help identify and resolve project issues efficiently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Background in construction, construction management, or a related field.
- Experience with estimation in a commercial construction setting.
- Familiarity with commercial project buyout processes.
- Ability to interpret construction documents and specifications.
- Detail-oriented approach to documentation, reporting, and project tracking.
Work Environment
The role operates in a commercial construction project environment that may involve a combination of office-based coordination and on-site project support. The Assistant Project Manager collaborates closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients, working within structured project schedules and deadlines. The position requires consistent attention to detail, proactive communication, and adaptability to shifting project priorities as work progresses through different phases of the construction lifecycle.

This is a Permanent position based out of Rogers, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
