Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description
Join a team dedicated to engineering high-performance hydraulic systems that power industrial and mobile equipment worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Quality Technician to support daily quality operations in a manufacturing environment focused on hydraulic pumps, motors, and transmissions. This role ensures the reliability, performance, and durability of precision components and assembled units. Experience in manufacturing quality, fluid power systems, and data analysis is highly valued. Candidates with 1–3 years of experience are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of precision-machined components and assemblies (e.g., pump housings, rotating groups, pistons, gears, shafts, valve bodies) to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
- Use precision measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, surface finish testers) and automated inspection systems to verify component and assembly quality.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot nonconforming parts and assemblies, including issues related to wear surfaces, sealing interfaces, and critical tolerances, and document findings with risk assessments.
- Monitor and track defects related to hydraulic performance (pressure, flow, efficiency, leakage, noise/vibration), using data analysis tools to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
- Support functional and performance testing of pumps, motors, and transmissions, ensuring units meet design and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to solve problems using root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods (5 Whys, Fishbone, Kaizen, corrective action processes).
- Assist in developing and maintaining process controls for machining, assembly, and test operations to ensure consistent product quality.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of experience in a quality inspection or manufacturing environment, preferably in fluid power, rotating equipment, or precision machining.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems, including pressure, flow, sealing, and rotational dynamics.
- Understanding of quality metrics such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), First Pass Yield (FPY), and defect analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to use hand tools and torque equipment to inspect, assemble, or adjust mechanical and hydraulic components.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment supporting assembly and machining processes.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills in a hands-on environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
