Our client is a privately owned and thriving high-technology business in Lehigh Valley, is currently seeking an Operations & Maintenance Coordinator to be accountable for either one or more sites that are located in proximity to each other.

Overview

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing CAS equipment maintenance, troubleshooting of equipment, repairs, preventative & predictive maintenance, emergency service, and provide support to modification and upgrades to existing plant equipment. Maintenance will be performed in accordance with safety procedures and as dictated by UCA CMMS to support the CAS site business goals and objectives. This position will also be a primary contact with the Customer for day-to-day maintenance tasks. Candidate must therefore interact with the Customer’s representatives on a periodic basis and develop positive, productive working relationships. In addition, the Maintenance Coordinator will be called upon at times to support construction, maintenance, and commissioning work activities at all UCA sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and perform general and preventative/predictive maintenance for compressors, blowers, chillers, vacuum systems, dryers, cooling equipment, pumps, valves, and PLC/electronic controls/automation components, and instrumentation in accordance with CMMS and OEM recommendations.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs to CAS equipment during regular work schedule and be available during afterhours and weekends to make recommendations/repairs.
  • Visually inspect, listen to equipment, locate causes of malfunctions, detect wear/misalignments, diagnose problems, dismantle machines, identify root causes, and replace and/or repair equipment as required to maintain CAS uptime as required.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs using system troubleshooting methodology and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain spare parts inventories and relationships with core equipment OEMs for full support and back-up in repairs and maintenance.
  • Communicate with the Customer maintenance and repair activities.
  • Periodically perform system walkdowns looking for potential problems (minor leaks, erratic control, proper valve operation, proper condensate trap operation, strange noises, etc.).
  • Maintain the Facility to present a clean and professional installation according to 5S principles.
  • Respond to "Call Outs" in a timely manner as required to maintain the Customer's compressed air supply.
  • Document any preventative maintenance tasks, potential safety hazards or low inventories (i.e. – water chemicals, glycol, oil, filters etc.) you identify as part of the weekly activity report.
  • Able to work overtime when scheduled with 24/7 on-call status.

Requirements

  • Supreme Emphasis on Safety –Significant safety training and acumen and be at least OSHA 10 certified.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma and possess a valid driver license; two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship in an industrial plant setting a plus.
  • Proven hands-on understanding of and ability to repair and maintain compressed air systems equipment, service, and operation, including large centrifugal compressors, air dryers, instrumentation, and PLC/DCS control systems.
  • Solid understanding, aptitude, and experience in mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, and controls areas along with troubleshooting experience.
  • Understanding of basic electrical principles in practical situations involving the safe operation and repair of electrical equipment; electrical and instrumentation expertise is a plus.
  • Maintenance skills, including familiarity with CMMS.
  • Ability to read/follow P&IDs, sketches, schematics, blueprints, OEM specifications, and manuals for CAS equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to operate effectively, efficiently, and independently, as well as in a Team environment.
  • Ability to use or learn to use the various software systems used at a facilities, including, but not limited to: MS Office suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with ability to effectively interface with Customers and vendors.
  • Amenable to significant overnight travel.
