Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor leads and develops the facility maintenance team while overseeing all maintenance and repair activities for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment. This role ensures preventative maintenance programs are executed effectively, supports production operations by minimizing equipment downtime, and drives continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability and overall plant efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the facility maintenance team, providing training, guidance, and performance accountability.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Ensure preventative maintenance is planned and completed on schedule to keep equipment running efficiently and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, diagnose root causes, and coordinate timely repairs to restore operations.
- Support automated systems, including PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, and production equipment, ensuring proper functionality and reliability.
- Manage maintenance schedules, prioritize work orders, and allocate resources to meet production and operational needs.
- Oversee spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available and properly tracked.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all company standards.
- Collaborate closely with production and operations teams to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous workflow.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing equipment reliability, optimizing maintenance processes, and improving plant efficiency.
- Review and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to plan and execute maintenance and repair activities.
- Utilize maintenance management software and computer tools to document work, track equipment history, and report on maintenance performance.
Essential Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 4+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or skilled trade experience.
- 2+ years of maintenance leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
- Proven experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, and industrial automation systems.
- Working knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience using maintenance management software to manage schedules, work orders, and equipment history.
- Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance schedules, work orders, and spare parts inventory.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues.
- Ability to supervise, train, and hold maintenance employees accountable for performance and safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Engineering, technical, or industrial maintenance certifications are preferred.
- Experience in blending, packaging, chemical processing, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Experience reading and working from detailed schematics and blueprints.
- Experience in maintenance repair across a variety of industrial equipment types.
- Knowledge of maintenance management principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with production and operations teams in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
This role operates in an industrial facility environment focused on production and processing activities. The typical schedule is 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed to support operations. You will work around electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment, using maintenance tools, diagnostic instruments, and computer-based maintenance management systems. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, requiring adherence to all safety procedures and appropriate industrial attire suitable for a plant setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Metairie, LA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
