BEAR Technologies is a SOC 2 Type II certified MSP/ISP seeking a motivated Security Analyst I to join our security team. In this role, you'll be on the front lines of protecting our clients' environments — monitoring for threats, responding to incidents, and helping harden the systems we manage. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their security career to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies and client environments.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor security alerts across EDR, SIEM, and email security platforms; triage and escalate as appropriate
- Respond to and document security incidents, following established incident response procedures
- Conduct vulnerability scans and assist with remediation tracking across client environments
- Support identity and access management tasks, including MFA/SSO enforcement and Entra ID conditional access reviews
- Assist with security awareness training initiatives and phishing simulation campaigns
- Maintain and update security documentation, runbooks, and client-facing reports
- Collaborate with the NOC, helpdesk, and field services teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities and misconfigurations
- Participate in security assessments and audits to support client compliance requirements (SOC 2, HIPAA, CMMC, etc.)
- Assist with onboarding new clients into our security stack and baseline hardening processes
- Track and manage security tickets through completion using our PSA/ticketing platform
Minimum Qualifications:
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, including threat and vulnerability management, risk management, incident response, and identity and access management
- Understanding of common industry tools and practices such as EDR, SIEM, Email Security, MFA, and SSO
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with personal integrity and strong interpersonal skills
- A dedicated work ethic, attention to detail, self-sufficiency, and time management skills
- Ability to work under stress in emergencies with the flexibility to handle multiple high-pressure situations simultaneously
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours security incidents
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Security+ Certification (or equivalent, such as CySA+, GSEC)
- 1-5 years of IT support or security administration experience
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, network protocols, and other related concepts
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 Defender
- Familiarity with ticketing/PSA systems (e.g., ConnectWise) and RMM tools
- Exposure to a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) environment
- Basic scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python) a plus
If you meet the minimum qualifications and possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply with your resume and cover letter. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment.
This is an onsite position in Plano, TX.
