Job DescriptionPosition Description: Director of TechnologyLocation: Northbrook, IL (hybrid, 3 days a week onsite)Reports To: VP of FinanceSalary Range: $130,000–$150,000Status: Exempt, Full-TimePosition SummaryThe Director of Technology is the organization’s senior technology leader, responsible for technology strategy, infrastructure, security, and core business systems. This role brings together technology responsibilities that are currently spread across the organization under one accountable leader. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep expertise in systems administration, security, vendor management, and integrations who can set strategy and execute effectively at every level.Key ResponsibilitiesSystems Integration & HRIS•\tOwn the integration architecture between the company’s HRIS and client-required software platforms•\tManage data flows, resolve integration issues, and maintain data integrity across connected systems•\tPartner with internal and client-facing teams to evaluate and implement new integrations as business needs evolveBusiness Application Ownership•\tProvide leadership oversight for Salesforce strategy, governance, and cross-functional alignment; the current Salesforce Administrator will report to this role and retain day-to-day platform administration•\tAdminister Box, including governance, permissions, and storage policies•\tOwn the portfolio of peripheral software and SaaS tools across the organization, including license management and renewals•\tLead software contract negotiations, including pricing, terms, renewals, and vendor consolidation opportunitiesIT Infrastructure & Security•\tOwn the company’s IT architecture and infrastructure strategy•\tManage the relationship with the company’s managed service provider (MSP), including evaluating provider performance•\tMaintain and strengthen the organization’s security posture, including policies, controls, and risk management practices•\tServe as the primary liaison with external IT auditors and lead remediation of audit findingsClient-Facing Security & Compliance•\tRespond to client security inquiries and complete security questionnaires and assessments•\tMaintain documentation of the company’s security controls and compliance posture for client due diligence•\tKeep the organization audit-ready with clear, current proceduresEmployee Lifecycle Support•\tManage technology onboarding for new employees, including provisioning accounts, hardware, and system access•\tManage technology offboarding for departing employees, including timely deactivation and asset recovery•\tMaintain access management standards across all systemsQualifications•\tBachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience•\t7+ years of progressive IT or technology experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role•\tExperience managing MSP relationships and vendor contracts•\tWorking knowledge of IT security frameworks (for example, SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001) and experience working with auditors•\tExperience with HRIS platforms and system integrations•\tStrong vendor negotiation and project management skills•\tAbility to operate as both a strategic leader and hands-on practitioner in a lean organizationNOTE: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the job.
