Cemetery Grounds Keeper (Pharr, TX)
Marathon Staffing is seeking reliable, hardworking candidates to help maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept facility in Pharr, TX. If you take pride in your work and enjoy staying active outdoors, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and stocked facility
- Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, vacuum, dust, and polish interior surfaces
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and kitchen areas
- Collect and dispose of trash and debris
- Replace burned-out light bulbs
- When needed: assist with openings/closings for burials, entombments, and inurnments
- Operate a mower, weed eater, and blower
- Handle and complete work orders related to grave and marker maintenance
- Prepare burial areas (including 25-foot radius preparation) and ensure they are clean and neat
- Follow safety rules and Universal Precautions
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Acceptable driving record and applicable license(s) to operate equipment/vehicles
- High school degree or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively with associates, contractors, and client families
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Pre-employment drug test and background required (testing does not include THC)
Work schedule & conditions
- 40 hours per week (typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM); Saturdays as requested/required
- Work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
- Overtime may be required as needed
Pay & benefits
- $11.00 per hour (may increase upon full-time hire)
- Agency benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance available immediately
