Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager to support critical technology initiatives for a local government organization in Cumming, Georgia. This Long-term Contract position will oversee complex infrastructure programs, guide cloud-related efforts, and help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with clear communication to stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong project leadership, a solid grasp of enterprise infrastructure environments, and the ability to coordinate technical and business teams through every stage of delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Direct several infrastructure-focused projects at the same time, including cloud adoption and modernization efforts across enterprise environments.
• Build and maintain detailed project plans that define timelines, milestones, resource needs, financial tracking, and delivery expectations.
• Partner with IT teams, engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders to keep work aligned and moving forward throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Identify project risks, resolve roadblocks, and adjust priorities as needed to protect schedules, budgets, and overall outcomes.
• Lead initiatives related to virtualization, automation, data center improvements, and broader infrastructure enhancement strategies.
• Communicate progress, dependencies, and key decisions to leadership through regular status reporting and stakeholder updates.
• Support infrastructure efforts involving network environments, server platforms, structured cabling, and related enterprise systems when required.
• Help ensure successful execution of migration and infrastructure change activities by coordinating planning, testing, implementation, and follow-up actions.
• At least 5 years of experience managing IT infrastructure projects in complex technical environments.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise infrastructure programs or cloud migration initiatives from planning through completion.
• Strong knowledge of project management frameworks, with certification or equivalent hands-on methodology experience preferred.
• Practical familiarity with technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, virtualization platforms, or data center infrastructure solutions.
• Ability to manage scope, budget, scheduling, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication across multiple active projects.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams that include technical staff, business partners, and external vendors.
• Background in local government, judicial systems, or similarly regulated public-sector environments is a plus.
