Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

The Quality Technician serves as the lead quality resource at the facility, partnering closely with site leadership and the enterprise quality team to ensure consistent compliance with quality standards and certification requirements. This role leads site-level quality compliance activities, supports and maintains BRC certification, owns and manages the nonconformance (NCR) process, and acts as the primary quality point of contact for internal teams and customers at the facility level. The Quality Technician promotes safety and accuracy through robust testing strategies, proactively identifies and resolves quality issues, and supports an innovative, environmentally responsible culture focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site-level quality compliance activities to ensure adherence to established quality standards and procedures.
  • Support BRC certification by maintaining required documentation, processes, and practices in alignment with certification requirements.
  • Own and manage the nonconformance (NCR) process, including documentation, investigation, and follow-up to drive effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Serve as the primary quality point of contact for internal teams and customers at the facility level, providing timely support and clear communication on quality-related matters.
  • Support compliance with quality standards through raw material inspection, in-process production quality checks, and final QC testing.
  • Escalate quality issues to the Quality Manager or General Manager when standards are not met, ensuring prompt attention and resolution.
  • Manage customer specifications, customer-required testing, and Certificates of Analysis (COA) documentation to ensure accurate and complete records.
  • Assist with internal and external quality audits, including preparation, execution support, and follow-up on findings.
  • Conduct and support first article audits and manage retain samples in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support reduction in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through consistent application of quality standards and effective root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Promote and contribute to an innovative culture by supporting the development of new products and services through robust quality practices.
  • Support environmental and sustainability efforts by understanding and aligning with the organization’s environmental statement and related initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proficiency in inspection and quality control activities, including visual inspection and the use of basic measuring tools such as micrometers.
  • Hands-on experience with quality inspection processes for raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the ability to apply them consistently on the production floor.
  • Experience managing nonconformance (NCR) processes, including documentation, investigation, and follow-up.
  • Ability to support and participate in internal and external quality audits, including first article audits.
  • Strong problem management skills, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Familiarity with customer specifications, customer-required testing, and COA documentation requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operations, management, and enterprise quality teams as the primary quality contact at the site.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and adherence to established quality standards and procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or maintaining BRC or similar third-party quality certifications.
  • Experience in reducing Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through process improvements and standardized quality practices.
  • Comfort working in environments with moving mechanical equipment and production processes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both internal stakeholders and external customers on quality-related topics.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily indoors within a production or manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this role, you regularly encounter fumes or airborne particles and frequently work near moving mechanical parts. You may occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, and the noise level in the work area is typically moderate to loud. Appropriate safety procedures, equipment, and protective gear are used to perform the job safely and effectively.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
