Location: Abernathy, TX (Near Lubbock)

Schedule: Multiple Shifts Available

Type: Contract/ Temp (with potential to go FTE)

Seeking Data Center Technicians to support the construction and deployment of a large-scale AI data center campus in Abernathy, Texas. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-profile project supporting one of the world's leading technology companies during a critical growth phase.

Whether you're looking to break into the data center industry or expand your hands-on infrastructure experience, this role provides exposure to enterprise-level hardware installations, structured cabling, and next-generation cooling technologies.

Available Shifts

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM

Multiple openings are available across all shifts.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble and prepare server racks, including rail kits, PDUs, cable management, and labeling
  • Rack and stack servers, storage devices, and networking equipment
  • Install, route, and label copper and fiber optic cabling
  • Connect power feeds while following established redundancy standards
  • Support airflow optimization and rack cooling initiatives
  • Assist with direct-to-chip (D2C) liquid cooling installations and connections
  • Follow installation procedures, diagrams, MOPs, and project documentation
  • Conduct quality inspections and identify installation discrepancies
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Follow all data center safety and PPE requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of data center environments or IT infrastructure
  • Familiarity with hardware installation, rack infrastructure, or structured cabling
  • Knowledge of copper and/or fiber optic cabling practices
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to lift equipment, stand for extended periods, and work within rack environments
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous data center experience
  • Rack-and-stack hardware installation experience
  • Cat5e/Cat6 or fiber cabling experience
  • Experience with airflow management or cooling systems
  • Exposure to liquid-cooled server environments

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Abernathy, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
