About the job
AboveAir Technologies builds HVAC equipment, and we need a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep our plant running. You’ll be the go-to person for the building, from the production floor to the front office. You’ll fix what breaks, help production with setup and build-out, keep the facility clean, and take care of basic plumbing and electrical needs. If you like variety and take pride in a well-kept building, we’d like to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Handle everyday repairs across the plant, offices, break rooms and restrooms: doors, locks, ceiling tiles, drywall, painting, fixtures and furniture
- Support production by building and modifying workbenches, racks, carts and fixtures, and by moving and setting up equipment
- Take care of basic plumbing: clogs, leaks, faucets, toilets and supply lines
- Do basic electrical work: lights, outlets, switches, cords and breakers, and assist licensed electricians on larger jobs
- Help office staff with moving and assembling furniture, hanging shelves and whiteboards, and setting up rooms
- Collect and remove trash, cardboard, scrap and recycling, and manage dumpsters, compactors and balers
- Complete preventive maintenance checks on HVAC filters, dock doors, compressors, eyewash stations, fire extinguishers and emergency lighting
- Help with the parking lot, walkways and seasonal snow and ice removal
- Respond to work requests, prioritize by urgency, and keep maintenance supplies stocked
- Follow lockout/tagout and all safety procedures
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years of building, facility or general maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair
- Comfortable with hand and power tools, carpentry and ladders
- A good troubleshooter who can work independently and juggle several requests
- A helpful, service-minded attitude
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to lift up to 50 lb, climb ladders, kneel, crawl and stand for long periods
Nice to have
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility
- Forklift certification
- Trade school coursework or certification in maintenance, electrical, plumbing or HVAC
- Experience with preventive maintenance or work-order systems
Schedule
