Now Hiring: Maintenance Assistant to join our Maintenance Department
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to help ensure our nursing home facility remains safe, clean, and fully operational for our residents and staff. The ideal candidate will assist with routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and general upkeep while maintaining a welcoming and secure environment.
Shift: Full-Time Position / On-Call when required
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hours: Monday through Friday (7:30 am- 4:00 pm)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with general maintenance repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)

Perform routine inspections of building systems and equipment

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff
-
Assist in preparing rooms for new residents
-
Help maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records
-
Maintain grounds, including basic landscaping and seasonal upkeep
-
Support emergency maintenance needs as required
-
Assist with moving furniture or other heavy equipment upon request
-
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility policies
-
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
-
Previous maintenance or handyman experience is a plus (healthcare or nursing home)

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

Ability to use hand and power tools safely

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Respectful and compassionate attitude toward elderly residents

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
