Portland Housing Authority is looking for an Assistant Maintenance Technician to join our team and grow their career in the maintenance field. The ideal candidate will be a hard working go getter who is dedicated to the safety and dignity of our residents. What you’ll do:

• Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, drywall, painting, doors/locks, and general repair
• Complete inspections, work orders, common-area upkeep, and preventive maintenance to help keep the property safe and in good condition.
• Work with the Maintenance Supervisor and the Lead Tech through mentorship and training to grow your career with a path towards Maintenance Tech or Supervisor

What will help you succeed:

• Valid State of Maine Driver’s License – with a clean driving record
• Strong focus on safety
• Hands-on experience with some of the maintenance and repair tasks listed above
• Ability to build and maintain a positive and effective, working relationship with our residents
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliability and a commitment to producing high-quality work
