DirectPath Recruiting Services has teamed up with a premier manufacturer to add multi-skilled maintenance talent to their plant team. If you’re equally comfortable diagnosing a servo fault as you are aligning a gearbox, this role will let you put your full toolkit to work.
Compensation & Schedule
- Starting pay: $27.00/hour minimum (commensurate with experience)
- Shift options: 2nd & 3rd shift openings
- Shift premiums:
- 2nd Shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM): +$1.25/hour
- 3rd Shift (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM): +$1.00/hour
A Day in the Life
Your shift kicks off with a quick pass through the lines—listening for bearing chatter, scanning drive data, and checking predictive maintenance tasks. You’ll jump from a PLC input issue on a weld cell to aligning a newly installed conveyor, then close the night commissioning a CNC after a spindle swap. Expect to:
- Restore production by repairing or replacing worn components using hand and power tools.
- Diagnose and fix issues across CNC equipment, industrial robots, PLC-controlled systems, electrical circuits, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical assemblies.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance routines to push uptime higher.
- Inspect motors, VFDs/drives, belts, bearings, filters, fluid levels, and other critical parts.
- Use blueprints, electrical schematics, manuals, and technical documentation to identify root causes and define corrective actions.
- Assemble, install, and repair electrical wiring, controls, machinery, and production assets.
- Test, measure, and operate equipment to verify and resolve electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Tackle welding, cutting, fabrication, and metal repair as needed.
- Install, level, align, and commission new manufacturing equipment.
- Apply precision tools—calipers, micrometers, and diagnostic instruments—for accurate setup and troubleshooting.
- Champion safety and continuous improvement in every task.
What You Bring
- Proven experience troubleshooting CNC machining centers and related equipment.
- Hands-on PLC troubleshooting; programming experience a plus.
- Robotics experience (Fanuc, Motoman, ABB, etc.) including programming and diagnostics.
- Strong electrical maintenance background—motors, drives, sensors, and control circuits.
- Mechanical expertise with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, and power transmission.
- Welding and fabrication capability.
- Confidence reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Manufacturing or automotive industry background preferred.
