The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the Maintenance Manager with day-to-day maintenance operations, facilities upkeep, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced distribution center. The role provides frontline leadership to maintenance supervisors, leads, technicians, vendors, and support partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for material handling equipment, conveyors, automation, dock equipment, building systems, utilities, grounds, and facility assets.
- Coordinate daily maintenance priorities, assign work, monitor completion, and escalate equipment/building issues.
- Monitor CMMS activity, downtime reports, PM compliance, parts usage, and KPI trends.
- Support root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Coach, train, and support maintenance leads, technicians, and CMMS coordinators.
- Support shift coverage, performance feedback, technical development, and cross-training.
- Reinforce OSHA, LOTO, hot work, powered industrial equipment, contractor safety, housekeeping, and ergonomic practices.

Education & Certifications:
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, Business, Operations, or related technical field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Required Experience:
- 3+ years of progressive maintenance, facilities, reliability, manufacturing, distribution center, automated warehousing, or similar industrial maintenance experience.
- 1+ year of lead, supervisory, project coordination, or shift leadership experience preferred.
- Experience guiding maintenance technicians, contractors, vendors, or cross-functional teams.
