About the Role
\n
An established aerospace and defense organization is seeking an Experienced Systems Analyst to support comprehensive software license management within a complex technical program.
\n
This role will focus on software license inventory, compliance, procurement support, utilization, cost optimization, reporting, and vendor coordination. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and organizational skills with an understanding of software licensing models and IT asset management practices.

Key Responsibilities
\n
Software License Management
\n
- \n
- Establish and maintain an accurate inventory of software licenses across the program.
- Track perpetual, subscription, cloud-based, open-source, user-based, device-based, and other licensing models.
- Manage processes for monitoring license allocation, usage, and renewal dates.
- Audit license counts and utilization against procurement records and contractual agreements.

Procurement & Renewals
\n

- Support software license procurement by working with technical and procurement teams to define requirements and evaluate options.
- Monitor renewal schedules and proactively coordinate renewal activities with internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Review software license agreements and terms to understand usage rights, restrictions, and compliance requirements.

Compliance & Risk Management
\n

- Ensure software usage remains compliant with applicable license agreements and terms of service.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to overuse, unauthorized use, and license expiration.
- Support internal and external software audits by providing accurate licensing information.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for software license management.

Optimization & Cost Management
\n

- Analyze software license utilization to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.
- Recommend license reallocation, vendor consolidation, and alternative licensing strategies where appropriate.
- Support software licensing budgets and track associated expenditures.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
\n

- Generate reports covering license inventory, usage, compliance, costs, and upcoming renewals.
- Communicate licensing policies, requirements, and updates to technical teams, developers, and end users.
- Serve as a point of contact for software licensing questions and issues.
- Present relevant findings and recommendations to program leadership and stakeholders.

Vendor Management
\n

- Build and maintain relationships with software vendors.
- Participate in vendor meetings and stay informed about licensing changes, products, and industry best practices.

Requirements
\n
- \n
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in IT asset management, software license management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models, including perpetual, subscription, cloud, user-based, and device-based models.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret software license agreements and contractual terms.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for analysis and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications
\n

- Active Secret security clearance.
- Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Software Asset Management (SAM) platforms such as ServiceNow, Flexera, or Snow Software.
- Familiarity with major software vendors and their licensing practices.
- Experience with budgeting and Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Experience supporting complex technical or government programs.

Security & Eligibility Requirements
\n

- U.S. citizenship is required for the applicable security clearance and program access requirements.
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance is required.
- The position is subject to applicable U.S. export control requirements.

- Successful completion of required background screening and other applicable employment requirements is required.

- Salary range: $99,450–$134,550, depending on experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
