Overview

\n

A growing New York City-based Managed Service Provider is seeking a senior-level Project Lead to join its Professional Services team. The company supports clients across financial services, legal, and other professional-services industries where security, uptime, compliance, and white-glove service are critical.

\n

This position combines hands-on project engineering, project ownership, and technical leadership. The ideal candidate is currently executing complex MSP infrastructure projects but is ready to take the next step into greater project and people leadership. Direct management experience is preferred but not required if managing engineers is the logical next progression in the candidate's career.

Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of complex, multistep client projects from initial scoping and planning through implementation and closeout.
  • \n

  • Remain hands-on with technical project implementation while leading overall project delivery.
  • \n

  • Lead projects including:
  • \n

  • Client onboardings and offboardings
  • \n

  • Network installations and migrations
  • \n

  • Windows server-to-server and server-to-cloud migrations
  • \n

  • Office builds and relocations
  • \n

  • Microsoft Intune MDM/MAM deployments
  • \n

  • Entra ID and Conditional Access implementations
  • \n

  • Coordinate project engineers and internal resources across multiple concurrent engagements.
  • \n

  • Delegate and prioritize technical tasks while managing project timelines, scope, resources, and budgets.
  • \n

  • Serve as the technical escalation point for project-related issues.
  • \n

  • Provide regular project status updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Create and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • \n

  • Perform onsite installations, assessments, migrations, and other hands-on technical work.
  • \n

  • Communicate directly with clients throughout project delivery and manage expectations around timelines and deliverables.
  • \n

  • Help mentor and provide direction to other project engineers.
  • \n

Technical Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • 3–5+ years of MSP experience required.
  • \n

  • 2+ years of hands-on project engineering / implementation experience required.
  • \n

  • Proven experience owning multistep MSP projects from scoping through completion.
  • \n

  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
  • \n

  • Hands-on Microsoft Intune experience, including MDM/MAM enrollment and configuration.
  • \n

  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting Conditional Access policies.
  • \n

  • Strong networking experience with platforms such as Meraki, FortiGate, SonicWall, or Sophos.
  • \n

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, switches, networks, and related infrastructure.
  • \n

  • Experience with VMware and Hyper-V.
  • \n

  • Experience performing physical-to-virtual and virtual-to-virtual server migrations.
  • \n

  • Experience with common MSP RMM and PSA platforms.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of project scope management, resource planning, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • \n

  • Experience supporting financial-services clients is a plus.
  • \n

Leadership & Client-Facing Requirements

\n

    \n
  • Ability to lead technical resources while remaining an individual contributor on project implementations.
  • \n

  • Previous team leadership or management experience preferred, but candidates ready to progress into people management will be considered.
  • \n

  • Strong ability to delegate work, manage competing priorities, and coordinate multiple engineers.
  • \n

  • Polished client-facing communication is critical due to the company's white-glove client base.
  • \n

  • Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Strong documentation, time-entry, and project-note discipline.
  • \n

  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • \n

  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • \n
