Why This Role Matters
Safe, consistent food doesn’t happen by accident. As a QA Inspector, you’ll uphold GMP standards, verify controls, and act decisively when specifications aren’t met.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee food safety, product quality, and GMP adherence across production areas.
- Execute in-process line checks each shift—weights, lot/code dates, labels, and retains.
- Audit scales and metal detectors; review and maintain associated records.
- Isolate and place on hold any nonconforming materials.
- Validate changeovers; complete ATP and environmental swabs.
- Perform allergen, glass, brittle plastic, magnet, and metal detection audits.
- Organize retain samples; manage QA supply inventory.
- Conduct internal audits and maintain QA documentation to standard.
- Open maintenance work requests when quality is impacted.
- Train new QA team members on procedures and recordkeeping.
- Escalate critical food safety issues and stop production if required.
- Support additional QA duties as business needs evolve.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma (post-secondary education preferred).
- 1+ year of QA/QC or operations experience within food manufacturing.
- Proficient with basic math; meticulous and organized.
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
- Effective communicator—both written and verbal.
- Dependable, safety-focused, and effective both solo and on a team.
