We're partnered with a growing commercial General Contractor that has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the Southeast. With a diverse portfolio spanning healthcare, office, retail, industrial, and commercial developments, they're looking to add an experienced Senior Project Manager to their St. Petersburg team.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while working alongside an experienced leadership team. The role offers significant autonomy, client interaction, and the opportunity to mentor and develop junior project staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial construction projects through all phases of delivery, from preconstruction planning through final turnover
- Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, procurement activities, and contract administration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Oversee project financial performance, including cost controls, forecasting, and change management
- Coordinate project teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project objectives
- Review project risks and develop strategies to maintain schedule and budget performance
- Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders
- Support preconstruction efforts, project planning, and execution strategies
- Maintain quality standards and ensure successful project closeout
- Mentor Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project team members
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of project management experience within commercial construction
- Proven experience delivering ground-up, renovation, or interior construction projects
- Background within commercial, healthcare, retail, office, industrial, or similar construction sectors
- Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, procurement, project controls, and contract management
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders while maintaining strong client relationships
- Ability to lead project teams and drive successful project outcomes
- Proficiency with construction management software and project controls platforms
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
- Extensive industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
