Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor leads all maintenance operations within a manufacturing facility to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance of facility assets, utilities, and equipment. This role drives the execution of maintenance strategies, projects, and compliance activities while supporting uninterrupted production and promoting a strong safety and reliability culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day maintenance operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance of all facility assets, utilities, and equipment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and support uninterrupted production.
  • Implement and manage maintenance management programs, including preventive maintenance schedules and reliability engineering practices.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, and utility systems to identify issues and implement effective repairs.
  • Perform and guide root cause analysis for equipment failures and recurring issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to plan and execute maintenance and repair activities.
  • Oversee and participate in PLC troubleshooting to support equipment automation and control system reliability.
  • Coordinate and manage maintenance projects, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting, to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and local or state requirements.
  • Promote safety leadership by enforcing safe work practices, conducting risk assessments, and supporting safety training and awareness.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response procedures related to equipment and facility incidents, and provide strong decision-making during emergencies.
  • Monitor equipment performance and reliability, recommending improvements or upgrades to enhance efficiency and reduce long-term costs.
  • Collaborate with production and other departments to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize impact on operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, equipment history, and inspection reports.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in maintenance management and supervision within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong communication and people skills to effectively lead maintenance teams and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician with a solid experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance management programs, including preventive and corrective maintenance and reliability engineering.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex equipment and system issues.
  • Working knowledge of equipment and systems such as mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and utilities.
  • Experience with project management, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting for maintenance projects.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic understanding of control systems.
  • Strong safety and reliability focus, with demonstrated safety leadership and risk management capabilities.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations and support effective emergency response.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working under regulatory frameworks such as EPA, OSHA, and relevant local or state requirements.
  • Experience in implementing and optimizing preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance documentation.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing facility that operates with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and continuous production. The environment involves hands-on work on the production floor and in utility areas, with exposure to industrial equipment, tools, and maintenance technologies. Standard manufacturing safety practices apply, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to regulatory and company safety procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Middletown, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
