Assistant Property Manager – Affordable Housing
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Pay: $25–$27 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Opportunity
Career Strategies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager for an affordable housing community in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate has property management experience, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of affordable housing compliance.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with residents, supporting daily property operations, and ensuring compliance with affordable housing regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Property Manager with daily operations of the apartment community.
- Support affordable housing compliance, including income certifications, annual recertifications, and resident eligibility documentation.
- Maintain accurate resident files, leases, and compliance records.
- Assist with leasing, rental applications, move-ins, and lease renewals.
- Communicate with residents regarding questions, concerns, and lease requirements.
- Monitor rent payments and assist with delinquency follow-up.
- Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up to ensure timely completion.
- Assist with property inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate property management records.
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing community policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous property management or affordable housing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, Section 8, or HUD is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential resident information professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work effectively with residents and team members.
Compensation
- $25–$27 per hour, depending on experience.
- Full-time opportunity in Minneapolis, MN.
