Job Description

Team Red Dog is hiring a Technical Producer – Gaming Engineering Systems for our client, a Fortune 50 technology leader and creative technology powerhouse behind one of the world's most popular gaming franchises. In this role, you'll support the Minecraft Engineering Systems team by driving Agile sprint execution, coordinating cross-functional engineering initiatives, and ensuring development pipelines, builds, and testing processes run smoothly. You'll leverage Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, Confluence, and Scrum methodologies to manage sprint planning, track milestones, resolve blockers, and improve delivery predictability. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Minecraft franchise while helping engineering teams streamline operations and focus on building exceptional gaming experiences.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Technical Program Management / Game Production (5–7 years): Experience as a Technical Program Manager (TPM) or Producer coordinating engineering projects, managing delivery schedules, tracking dependencies, and driving execution across technical teams.
  2. Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or Confluence: Strong hands-on experience managing sprint backlogs, work items, dashboards, user stories, bugs, and project documentation to support engineering workflows and release readiness.
  3. Agile / Scrum Methodologies: Demonstrated experience facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies while tracking team velocity, capacity, and milestone delivery.
  4. Cross-Functional Engineering Coordination: Experience collaborating with software engineers, QA teams, product managers, and technical stakeholders to identify blockers, manage release dependencies, and ensure timely project execution.

Opportunity Overview:

Join the Minecraft Engineering Systems team and play an important role in supporting the technology and development processes behind one of the world's most recognizable gaming franchises. This team enables developers to efficiently check in code, execute automated tests, validate builds, and identify issues throughout the development lifecycle.

As a Technical Producer, you'll help keep engineering initiatives organized, predictable, and moving forward by coordinating Agile ceremonies, maintaining delivery schedules, and managing cross-team dependencies. Your work will directly support engineering productivity, improve release readiness, and allow technical leaders to focus on innovation and development. This fully remote opportunity offers the chance to work with talented gaming professionals while contributing to the systems that power Minecraft's continued evolution.

How you will make an impact:

  • Facilitate Agile sprint ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and technical triage meetings.
  • Manage sprint execution, team velocity, capacity planning, feature delivery schedules, and milestone tracking.
  • Create and maintain sprint dashboards, project calendars, delivery trackers, milestone reports, and transition checklists.
  • Maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) work items, including user stories, tasks, bugs, and backlog priorities, ensuring accurate documentation and ownership.
  • Identify, track, and escalate project risks, technical dependencies, blockers, and critical-path issues.
  • Coordinate engineering meetings, prepare agendas and pre-reads, document decisions, and follow up on action items.
  • Partner with engineering leads, product managers, and QA teams to coordinate validation plans, regression testing, release dependencies, and technical initiatives.
  • Support release readiness by reviewing outstanding bugs, tracking validation progress, and confirming milestone commitments.
  • Represent assigned features and workstreams in cross-functional release meetings and engineering discussions.
  • Consolidate changelog reviews, track stakeholder feedback, and ensure timely follow-up with feature owners.
  • Improve engineering execution processes by maintaining accurate project documentation, streamlining workflows, and reducing administrative overhead for technical leaders.
  • Monitor delivery predictability, milestone completion, and unresolved dependencies to help teams meet commitments.

The expertise you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Product Development, Data Analysis, or a related field, plus 4+ years of relevant experience in engineering, technical program management, product development, or production.
  • Strong preference for 5–7 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Technical Producer, or similar role supporting engineering teams.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or Confluence for sprint planning, task management, backlog maintenance, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum frameworks, including sprint execution, velocity tracking, capacity planning, and milestone management.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional or cross-team engineering projects, ideally within a gaming studio or software development environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with software engineers, creative teams, product managers, QA professionals, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated experience managing competing priorities, tracking deliverables, and resolving project dependencies.
  • Experience supporting software development lifecycles, build processes, testing coordination, or release management.
  • Ability to facilitate productive meetings, motivate cross-functional teams, and resolve conflicts under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Adaptability and a positive, solutions-oriented approach to changing priorities and evolving technical environments.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining Pacific Time business hours.

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:

A highly successful candidate brings 5–7 years of Technical Producer or Technical Program Management experience, ideally within a gaming studio or complex software engineering organization. They have a strong command of Agile execution and can independently manage sprint ceremonies, engineering backlogs, release coordination, and cross-functional dependencies without requiring extensive oversight.

The ideal candidate is particularly effective at turning complex engineering activities into clear, actionable plans. They proactively identify risks, maintain accurate project tracking in ADO or similar tools, and ensure commitments are delivered predictably. Experience working alongside game developers, QA teams, and engineering leaders is especially valuable.

Success in this position will be demonstrated through improved milestone delivery, accurate project forecasting, fewer unresolved blockers, and more efficient engineering operations. The strongest candidates will take ownership of day-to-day execution, allowing product and engineering managers to dedicate more time to technical direction, innovation, and strategic priorities.
