Role Description The Research and Development Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chicago Area. This role oversees R&D projects from concept through commercialization, coordinating cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, and quality to meet scope, schedule, and budget objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining project plans, managing timelines and milestones, tracking risks and issues, and ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders and clients. The Project Manager will support technical research activities, guide product development efforts, and ensure design transfer to manufacturing is executed smoothly and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards. The role also involves preparing project documentation, leading status meetings, and driving continuous improvement in R&D project execution and processes.

- Candidates should possess strong Research and Development (R&D) and Product Development skills, including experience with medical devices or highly regulated products.
- Candidates should possess solid Project Management skills, with a track record of planning, executing, and closing complex technical projects.
- Candidates should possess robust Analytical Skills and Research abilities to interpret data, evaluate design options, and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Relevant experience with cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder communication, and risk management in an R&D environment is beneficial.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485, design controls, and quality and regulatory requirements for medical devices is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field is required; an advanced degree or PMP certification is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater Chicago Area, manage multiple projects concurrently, and adapt in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
