ARC Group has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Hadoop Developer with a well-respected healthcare organization. This is a contract position through February 2027, with potential for extension and possible conversion to a full-time position.
This is a 100% remote opportunity, working Eastern Time Zone business hours.

Position Overview
The Senior Hadoop Developer will be responsible for the development, programming, coding, testing, and maintenance of moderately complex Information Technology solutions. This position will work across data and application platforms, develop and enhance applications and APIs, participate in technical design and unit testing, and help ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of application data.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Hadoop, SQL, Spark, PySpark, ETL, Kafka, and Python, along with a solid background in technical design and development.
Essential Functions

Develop code for moderately complex system designs and applications across multiple platforms.

Develop and maintain APIs and data-processing solutions.

Enhance existing applications and develop new programs based on business and technical requirements.

Work with distributed data-processing technologies including Hadoop, Spark, and PySpark.

Design and develop ETL processes and data integration solutions.

Review code developed by other IT Developers and provide technical feedback.

Contribute to programming standards, development best practices, and technical processes.

Develop detailed technical specifications and identify subsystem integration points.

Identify gaps or missing elements in system and functional requirements and communicate potential impacts to the development team.

Collaborate with IT Developers, Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, Project Managers, and vendors.

Estimate the time, resources, and effort required to complete development projects.

Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance testing.

Support applications throughout the product development lifecycle, including deployment and migration activities.

Research vendor products and alternative technologies and perform product gap analysis and comparisons.

Follow established IT controls and corporate security practices to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience
