Travel Assistant Superintendent
Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive Travel Assistant Superintendent to support field superintendents across multiple construction sites with an emphasis on multifamily and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will travel frequently between projects to ensure schedules, quality standards, safety protocols, and subcontractor coordination are maintained. This role acts as a hands-on, mobile second-in-command who helps drive on-site execution, problem solving, and communication between the field and office teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel regularly to assigned job sites within the region (and occasionally out-of-state) to provide on-site support to the Superintendent and ensure project milestones are met.
- Assist in managing daily field operations, including supervising subcontractors, coordinating trades, and sequencing work to meet the project schedule.
- Help prepare, update, and monitor short-term look-ahead schedules and daily/weekly progress reports; identify potential delays and recommend corrective actions.
- Enforce safety and quality control standards on site; conduct daily safety walks, assist in incident investigations, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.

Review drawings and specifications with field crews, clarify scope, process RFIs, and support resolution of design and constructability issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1+ years of field construction experience; prior experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, or similar role on multifamily and/or commercial projects required.
- Working knowledge of construction methods, means and methods, building systems, and site logistics for multifamily and commercial construction.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Procore, Planswift, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction software.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations (OSHA) and quality control processes; OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience managing subcontractors, creating punch lists, and supporting project closeout and turnover activities.
