API Developer / Integration Analyst (MuleSoft Consultant)

We are seeking an experienced API Developer/Analyst with deep expertise in MuleSoft to support our team in developing, managing, and optimizing integrations between multiple SaaS platforms. The consultant will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying APIs and integration flows that ensure secure, reliable, and scalable data exchange between enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working across the full MuleSoft ecosystem (Anypoint Studio, Anypoint Platform, API Manager, Runtime Manager) and a strong background in integrating financial, HR, payments, or grants management systems.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of APIs using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Architect and maintain integration flows connecting multiple SaaS platforms.
- Analyze business and technical requirements to translate them into integration solutions.
- Configure API security policies, gateways, SLAs, and monitoring through MuleSoft tools.
- Manage API lifecycle, including design, versioning, testing, and deployment.
- Develop reusable MuleSoft components, connectors, RAML specifications, and documentation.
- Support troubleshooting and performance optimization for API integrations.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to validate integration specifications.
- Participate in integration testing, error handling design, and root cause analysis.
- Provide knowledge transfer and best practices to internal team members.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive, hands-on expertise with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including:
- Anypoint Studio
- API Manager
- Anypoint Exchange
- Runtime Manager
- DataWeave (expert-level proficiency)
- Proven experience developing, deploying, and supporting REST APIs and Mule applications.
- Strong understanding of API-led connectivity, microservices architecture, and integration patterns.
- Experience integrating two or more SaaS systems in an enterprise environment.
- Proficiency with JSON, XML, RAML, OAuth2, TLS, and API security standards.
- Ability to analyze business processes and translate them into technical integration requirements.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and environment configuration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience integrating APIs with the following systems (highly desirable):
- CGI Advantage 4.0 (financial/ERP systems)
- Workday (HR/Finance)
- PaymentWorks (vendor onboarding and payment compliance)
- Tyler Munis (ERP)
- Euna Grants (grant management)
Additional preferred skills:
- Experience designing integrations for government or public sector environments.
- Familiarity with middleware, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), or DevOps pipelines.
- MuleSoft Certification(s):
- MuleSoft Certified Developer (MCD – Level 1 or 2)
- MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect
