Job Description
The Cleaner at The Cottage Grocery wears many hats. They are detail-oriented, tireless organizers, and quick to lend a hand to our customers and fellow employees. Our Cleaners are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, stock, and organization of the Front of House, ensuring the store's appearance meets high standards, and occasionally supporting light groundskeeping and kitchen operations. This position reports to our Kitchen Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining clean and sanitary customer spaces. This includes cleaning bathrooms, changing trash, cleaning and dusting shelves and merchandisers, and bussing tables.
- Handling FOH deliveries, including unboxing and organizing products.
- Assisting in stocking shelves and display areas in front and back of house.
- Light groundskeeping work including watering plants, arranging and cleaning patio furniture, and light maintenance tasks.
- Assisting customers as needed.
- Contributing to the team environment by supporting other team members in various tasks to ensure smooth store operations.
Qualifications
- Customer service skills, as the role may involve interacting with customers.
- Experience cleaning home or commercial spaces.
- Ability to stand for long hours, lift heavy objects, and lift overheard.
- Strong attention to detail and extremely organized.
- Preferred fluency in English.
- Valid Food Handlers certification is required.
