Job Description

Job DescriptionDescription:

POSITION SUMMARY

RAM Aerospace is seeking a hands-on leader to serve as Janitorial Supervisor. This hybrid role combines active daily participation in janitorial operations with responsibility for leading the team. You will coordinate a high volume of unique tasks across our precision aerospace manufacturing environment, where meticulous cleanliness directly supports product quality, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, and operational excellence. Success requires both operational expertise and strong people skills: the ability to build genuine rapport, foster high engagement, and maintain a positive, cohesive team culture through clear communication, coaching, and constructive feedback. If you take pride in leading by example while developing people and processes, this role offers meaningful daily impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the janitorial team with a focus on engagement, morale, and professional growth. Build genuine rapport across team members with diverse working styles and backgrounds, using clear expectations, coaching, and constructive feedback to sustain a positive and cohesive culture.
  • Plan and delegate daily assignments across multiple facility areas, balancing workloads while ensuring consistent high-quality results. Monitor performance, provide real-time coaching, and support individual and team development.
  • Champion continuous improvement and lean principles (5S). Encourage team input on process enhancements that improve efficiency, quality, and safety, then help implement the best ideas.

Hands-On Operations & Task Coordination

  • Serve as a working supervisor: actively perform the full range of janitorial tasks alongside the team every day, leading by example in technique, thoroughness, and work ethic while completing your own assigned responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and execute a high volume of unique daily, weekly, and periodic tasks with strong organization and attention to detail. Sequence work to support manufacturing schedules, minimize disruption, and uphold the rigorous cleanliness standards required in precision aerospace production.
  • Safely operate, maintain, and train others on all cleaning equipment and machinery. Manage the chemical program end-to-end, proper selection, accurate dilution, labeling, storage, and application, in full compliance with SDS and safety regulations.

Quality Assurance, Safety & Compliance

  • Conduct regular area inspections to identify deficiencies early and drive timely corrective action. Maintain facilities in a constant state of tour readiness.
  • Champion safety and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention awareness. Help the team understand how their work protects product integrity and prevents contamination in high-precision manufacturing. Enforce all safety policies, PPE requirements, and emergency procedures.
  • Respond immediately and effectively to spills, urgent requests, or emergencies, coordinating resources calmly and minimizing operational impact.

Administrative, Planning & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Own scheduling, timekeeping, attendance tracking, and task completion. Produce clear reports on productivity, supplies, training, and inspections as needed by leadership.
  • Manage supplies and equipment inventory, control costs, maintain inventory levels, evaluate vendors, and identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality or safety.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to align janitorial support with operational needs.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Additional training or certification in facilities management, industrial cleaning, or supervision strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable planning and executing complex, multi-area workloads with a high volume of distinct tasks while maintaining consistently high standards.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills. Able to give clear directions, document work accurately, deliver feedback effectively, and interact professionally at all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, GHS/SDS chemical safety, equipment operation, and basic inventory management.
  • Physical ability to perform all essential functions for full shifts, including prolonged standing/walking, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs regularly, pushing/pulling equipment, bending, reaching, and climbing as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, or other high precision FOD prevention or cleanroom protocol awareness.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and 5S workplace organization.
  • Experience with work-order software, digital scheduling, or inventory tools.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on leadership role. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities.

  • Regularly required to stand and walk for full shifts, lift/carry up to 50 lbs (occasionally more with assistance), push/pull equipment, bend, stoop, reach, and climb ladders or step stools as needed.
  • Schedule flexibility required; may include early/late shifts, weekend/holiday coverage for projects, or on-call support for emergencies. Overtime as business needs dictate.

Travel: Primarily based at the assigned facility with occasional local travel for training, or projects. No significant overnight travel anticipated.
