Maintenance Technician / Line Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on performing machine adjustments and light maintenance on production and packaging equipment. You will support efficient line operations by setting up machines, performing minor repairs, and assisting with preventative maintenance tasks. This position offers a strong pathway into a broader maintenance career for individuals with mechanical aptitude who want to grow their skills over time.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine adjustments on production and packaging machines to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Complete machine changeovers to support different products or production runs, including setup and alignment.
- Make minor tweaks and fine-tuning adjustments to optimize machine performance and reduce downtime.
- Disassemble machines or machine components as needed for cleaning, inspection, or minor repairs.
- Conduct light troubleshooting on conveyor chains, sensors, and other aspects of packaging equipment to identify and resolve basic issues.
- Assist with light preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on equipment under the guidance of more experienced maintenance personnel.
- Monitor equipment during operation and report any unusual noises, vibrations, or performance issues promptly.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintenance guidelines while working on mechanical and electrical components within your scope.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around machines and equipment.
- Collaborate with operators and maintenance team members to support continuous improvement of equipment reliability and performance.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated mechanical inclination and comfort working with tools and machinery.
- Experience adjusting machines or performing light preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Ability to perform basic machine setup, changeovers, and disassembly tasks.
- Foundational troubleshooting skills for mechanical systems, including conveyors and sensors.
- Basic understanding of maintenance concepts, including preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Ability to work with both mechanical and basic electrical aspects of equipment within defined scope.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety procedures and instructions.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with the maintenance team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a maintenance technician, machine setup, or similar mechanical role is beneficial.
- Experience as a mechanic or similar hands-on technical role is a strong fit for transitioning into maintenance.
- Familiarity with packaging equipment, conveyor systems, and sensors is an advantage.
- Interest in developing a long-term career in maintenance and expanding technical skills over time.

This is a Permanent position based out of Long Prairie, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
