About the Role
\n
The organization is looking for a skilled Storage Engineer to design, integrate, validate, and support enterprise storage solutions across a range of platforms. This is a hands-on role that blends storage engineering, performance analysis, automation, and root-cause investigation. You'll collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and field teams, as well as storage vendors, to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable systems from initial qualification through production and ongoing maintenance.
\n
\n
What You'll Be Doing
\n
* Design, integrate, and validate storage hardware, firmware, software, and management utilities for new products and sustaining releases.
\n
* Configure and test high availability, fault tolerance, failover, recovery, and data protection; validate system resiliency under component and system failures.
\n
* Benchmark storage performance and analyze throughput, latency, and resource utilization across representative workloads.
\n
* Lead root-cause analysis across storage devices, controllers, firmware, Linux, and network interfaces; coordinate with vendors on corrective actions.
\n
* Develop Python, Bash, or C-based tools to automate configuration, validation, diagnostics, software upgrades, and maintenance tasks.
\n
* Validate storage security configurations, authentication and logging integration, and supported encryption and FIPS-related requirements.
\n
* Evaluate backup, replication, and recovery approaches, including integration with on-premises S3-compatible storage where applicable.
\n
* Define manufacturing, integration, and test procedures, firmware baselines, deployment settings, and production handoff requirements.
\n
* Coordinate component qualification, engineering changes, and storage releases; maintain test plans, results, configuration guidance, and engineering records.
\n
\n
What We're Looking For
\n
\n
Required Technical Skills
\n
* Strong systems engineering background spanning server, storage, networking, or infrastructure platforms, with hands-on storage integration and validation experience.
\n
* Strong knowledge of Linux systems and command-line environments.
\n
* Experience with platform debugging and performance analysis tools such as fio, iostat, perf, sar, iperf, sysbench, or similar utilities.
\n
* Proficiency with scripting or programming using Python, Bash, and/or C.
\n
* Experience working with firmware, BIOS, BMC/iDRAC, or large-scale system configuration.
\n
* Familiarity with high-speed networking technologies, including Ethernet or InfiniBand fabrics.
\n
* Experience with enterprise storage technologies, including NVMe, RAID, distributed storage, replication, or erasure coding concepts.
\n
* Understanding of rack-level storage integration and data cabling; experience supporting manufacturing, system integration, or factory deployment activities.
\n
* Familiarity with regulatory and EMC considerations in enterprise hardware deployments.
\n
* Ability to operate beyond a single technical specialty and take broader system-level ownership.
\n
\n
Preferred Qualifications
\n
* Experience with NetApp and/or Dell storage technologies; experience with either vendor is valuable.
\n
* NetApp ONTAP administration and configuration, including HA pairs, multi-application clusters, NFS and S3 access, resiliency testing, and data protection.
\n
* Dell PowerScale and/or PowerFlex administration, configuration, resiliency testing, performance tuning, and lifecycle maintenance.
\n
* Storage security experience, including authentication-provider integration, syslog, full-disk encryption, and supported FIPS-compliant configurations.
\n
* Automation of storage software and firmware upgrades, encryption configuration, and maintenance across clusters or multiple storage systems.
\n
* Experience working with global OEM/ODM vendors and manufacturing partners.
\n
\n
Education and Experience
\n
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
\n
* 8+ years of experience in storage, systems, platform, or infrastructure engineering, with demonstrated technical leadership and cross-functional ownership.
\n
\n
What You'll Bring to the Team
\n
Beyond the technical skills, the hiring team is looking for someone with strong systems thinking and sound engineering judgment — someone who takes ownership from investigation through resolution. You communicate clearly in both written and verbal form, collaborate effectively across engineering and manufacturing teams, and can influence technical decisions without direct authority. A curious mindset and adaptability as priorities and technologies evolve will serve you well in this role.
