Janitor
Location: Remote mining camp near Winnemucca, Nevada
Work Schedule: 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off (full-time, seasonal)
Camp Size: Approximately 150 residents
Matrix Camps, Logistics & Aviation is seeking a Janitor to clean and maintain facilities at a remote mining camp. The Janitor will follow cleaning schedules, sanitize restrooms and common areas, restock supplies, remove waste, and report maintenance or safety concerns.
The successful candidate will work carefully and efficiently in a busy camp setting and follow site cleaning and safety procedures. Janitorial or housekeeping experience is preferred. MSHA certification and legal authorization to work in the United States are required. Preference will be given to candidates in or near Winnemucca.
Basics
- Clean and maintain camp facilities according to established schedules and checklists
- Perform tasks such as sweeping, mopping, sanitizing restrooms, and cleaning common areas
- Disinfect and maintain high-touch surfaces using approved products and procedures
- Empty trash, remove waste, and ensure proper waste handling/disposal
- Support basic floor/area upkeep (spot cleaning, housekeeping touch-ups, minor maintenance support as directed)
- Assist with restroom and common area restocking (paper goods, soap, etc.) as needed
- Report maintenance issues (cleaning supply needs, damaged fixtures, safety hazards) to the supervisor
- Maintain a safety-first, team-first approach in all work areas
Requirements
- Prior janitorial, custodial, sanitation, or housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a remote camp environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow cleaning/sanitation standards
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift light-to-moderate items as required
- Willingness to complete required onboarding, training, and site safety orientation
- Ability to work a rotational schedule
Mine Site Safety & Compliance (MSHA / Nevada)
- MSHA certification is required
- Must comply with all applicable mine safety and health requirements, including MSHA regulations (30 CFR) and site-specific safety orientation/training
- PPE and site rules are required (site-provided during onboarding)
- Reference and criminal record checks will be completed
- Some sites may require pre-access drug screening and/or fitness-for-duty clearance
Preference
Preference will be given to local candidates (and candidates with proximity) in the Winnemucca, NV region.

- Matrix will comply with all applicable U.S. employment verification requirements (I-9)
