Part-Time / Per Diem Armed Security Officer – Church Security
Ocean Safety & Security, LLC | Southwest Florida

Ocean Safety & Security, LLC is hiring several part-time and per diem security officers to serve churches in the Fort Myers, Estero, Cape Coral, and Naples areas. Our approach combines professional security standards with a welcoming, service-minded presence.

Assignments may include Sunday services, weekday or evening small groups, and special events. Hours vary by assignment, with regular Sunday availability especially valuable. This is a W-2 position.

Responsibilities

Maintain a visible, professional presence while helping congregants, staff, and guests feel welcome.
Monitor assigned entrances, children’s ministry access points, parking areas, and other posts.
Identify and report safety concerns; respond to incidents according to training, post orders, and company policy.
Use sound judgment and de-escalation skills when interacting with people in distress or involved in a disturbance.
Communicate clearly by radio and document incidents accurately.
Coordinate with church leadership, fellow officers, and first responders when needed.

Required qualifications

Active Florida Class D Security Officer License and Class G Statewide Firearm License.
Ability to reliably work scheduled assignments, including Sundays.
Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a professional appearance.
Ability to follow post orders and work respectfully in a church environment.
Ability to meet company hiring, training, and assignment requirements.

Preferred qualifications

Prior church, school, event, or other public-facing security experience.
Law enforcement or military experience.
Training in de-escalation, CPR/AED, first aid, or emergency response.
Experience working around children’s ministry areas or large gatherings.

Schedule: Part-time / per diem; Sunday, evening, and special-event shifts may be available.
Location: Assignments across Southwest Florida.
Pay: $20-$25/hr contingent on experience
