AV & Smart Home Integration Technician

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 a year (Depending on Experience) plus occasional overtime.

Since 1999, Northeast Entertainment has been Central New York’s premier custom electronics integration firm. We design, pre-wire, install, and program high-end home automation, lighting, and audio/video systems.

What You’ll Do

Pre-Wire & Layout: Read blueprints and run low-voltage structured wiring (Cat6, Fiber, Speaker, Coax) in commercial or residential new construction, and retrofits.
Equipment Installation: Trim out and install high-end AV gear, architectural speakers, displays, smart thermostats, motorized shades, and automated lighting.
Programming & Networks: Setup networks and utilize manufacturer software (Control4, Elan, Lutron Homeworks and Radio RA3, etc.) to integrate subsystems.
Troubleshooting: Maintain, test, and diagnose hardware/software systems and issues for project sign-off.
Document: Issues, work performed, and key system-specific details for maintaining systems.

What We Are Looking For (Transferable Skills Welcome!)

We are looking for individuals who take pride in their craftsmanship and fit our team culture. While low-voltage or AV experience is a major plus, we're open to candidates with transferable skills from other trades (such as electrical, HVAC, carpentry, automotive, or construction) who have the right aptitude and a hunger to learn.

Hands-On: Safety first with experience using hand/power tools, running wire, or working on active jobsites.
Coachability: A strong willingness to learn from industry veterans and adapt to our processes during your training ramp-up period.
Tech-Savvy Skills: Comfortable interpreting architectural blueprints and learning new software, navigating networks, or working with modern electronics.
Reliability & Relocation: A strong work ethic and reliability are non-negotiable. We welcome reliable out-of-state applicants who are ready to make a long-term relocation to the Syracuse area.
Requirements: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
