Assistant Maintenance Director
Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center — Trenton, NJ
Full-Time | $24–$26 per hour
Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced Assistant Maintenance Director to help keep our skilled nursing facility safe, comfortable and well maintained. This hands-on position supports the Maintenance Director with daily repairs, preventive maintenance and building operations.

Assistant Maintenance Director Responsibilities

Perform general building repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical work, painting and carpentry.

Complete preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff.

Assist the Maintenance Director with daily assignments, inspections and maintenance records.

Help maintain compliance with applicable life safety, fire safety and facility requirements.

Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as assigned.

Identify and promptly report equipment failures, safety hazards and repair needs.

Complete work safely while respecting residents’ privacy, comfort and daily routines.
Assistant Maintenance Director Qualifications

Previous maintenance experience in a skilled nursing facility required.

Working knowledge of general building maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance.

Familiarity with life safety requirements in a healthcare setting.

Ability to troubleshoot problems, prioritize assignments and follow through on repairs.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with residents, staff and vendors.

Supervisory or maintenance leadership experience preferred.
