Job Description

We are seeking a Technician: Facilities Mechanical - II to join our operations team in a semiconductor manufacturing and R&D environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in chemical safety, mechanical and electrical maintenance, and gas/chemical delivery systems and a proven ability to execute preventive maintenance, complete safe change-outs, and resolve equipment issues with minimal downtime.

Schedule & Work Conditions:

  • Training: M–F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for approximately 1.5 months.
  • Post-training: Shift 5, 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Sun–Tue with alternating Wed.
  • Onsite: 100% onsite. Laptop provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and operate liquid bulk and specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment.
  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on gas and chemical equipment.
  • Complete daily rounds, record readings, conduct safety inspections, monitor online systems, verify toxic gas monitoring operations, and perform chemical tote/drum and non-toxic gas cylinder change-outs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns and perform repairs.
  • Uphold safety and work ethics in chemical, electrical, and mechanical tasks.
  • Multitask across systems monitoring, preventive maintenance, housekeeping, safety rounds, and training.
  • Provide occasional coverage for non-day shifts for vacation or sick leave as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Chemical safety awareness and adherence to Safety Data Sheets.
  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance background with basic electronics knowledge.
  • Two years of industrial work experience in related environments.
  • Demonstrated teamwork with evidence of successful collaboration.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to operate an electric pallet jack; forklift or electric pallet jack certification and experience.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft applications.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude in facilities or semiconductor settings.
  • Experience working safely with gas and chemical delivery systems.

Work Environment & Team:

Team members work in pairs for projects, safety, and training. The environment can be fast paced at times and supports both operations and R&D activities with established procedures and safety leadership.

Chemicals & Safety Scope:

  • Common chemicals include Hydrogen Peroxide, Tetramethyl Ammonium Hydroxide, Ammonium Hydroxide, Sulfuric Acid, solvents and blends, and laser recharge gases such as Xenon and Krypton.
  • Routine work involves approximately 30% change-outs of non-toxic gas cylinders or bundles and 55-gallon drums or 240-gallon totes for specified chemicals.
  • Toxic gas systems such as Chlorine Gas and Ammonium Fluoride are monitored during rounds; technicians do not perform change-outs on toxic gases.
  • Safety Data Sheets are provided during training. The site emphasizes industry-leading semiconductor safety practices.
