Hinton Investigations Inc is seeking an Armed Security Officer to provide professional, reliable on-site security coverage in Pittsburgh, PA.
Position Summary
The Armed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment through visible patrols, incident prevention, and timely response to emergencies. This temporary role requires a calm, professional presence and the ability to follow established security procedures while protecting people, property, and assets.
You will monitor assigned areas, deter misconduct through proactive security presence, and document observations and incidents accurately. The ideal candidate is vigilant, service-oriented, and able to perform security duties consistently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide armed security coverage for assigned sites, including patrols, perimeter checks, and monitoring of entrances and exits

Respond to alarms, disturbances, trespass incidents, and other security-related events in accordance with company protocols

Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and breach attempts; maintain accurate written incident and activity reports

Enforce site rules and control access to protected areas while maintaining a professional and respectful approach

Coordinate with site leadership and internal stakeholders during incidents, providing clear, timely updates as needed
Required Qualifications

Valid authorization to serve as an armed security officer (as required by applicable regulations) ACT 235

Ability to stand, patrol, and perform security duties for extended periods in various conditions

Demonstrated reliability, sound judgment, and the ability to remain composed during high-stress situations

Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and incident documentation

Willingness to work a temporary assignment with consistent attendance

Reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications

Prior armed security, law enforcement, or related public safety experience

Experience working in a monitored, controlled-access environment or high-visibility security role

Familiarity with incident response procedures and de-escalation techniques

Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records with minimal supervision
Compensation
Hourly rate: $19 - $23
