Job Description
Looking for Two (2X) Cloud Architect for a Government Contract - long term. Fast Moving
1. Cloud Architecture & Strategy
- Design end-to-end cloud solutions (AWS/Azure + hybrid environments)
- Define standards, automation, governance, and best practices
- Build high-availability, scalable, secure architectures
- Optimize cost, performance, and resource utilization
- Support AI/ML and LLM infrastructure (HPC clusters)
2. Cloud & On-Prem Infrastructure Operations
- Manage AWS & Azure environments (EC2, VPC, IAM, Azure VMs, etc.)
- Support hybrid infrastructure (cloud + on-prem)
- Perform:
- Monitoring & incident resolution
- Patching & vulnerability remediation
- Performance tuning
- Maintain Windows & Linux servers
3. Automation & DevOps
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Develop automation scripts (Python, Go, etc.)
- Enable automated provisioning & configuration management
4. Backup, DR & Security
- Manage backup/recovery strategies
- Support disaster recovery planning & testing
- Ensure compliance with security standards
5. Documentation & Collaboration
- Produce:
- Architecture diagrams
- SOPs & runbooks
- Status reports
- Provide knowledge transfer to internal teams
- Work closely with stakeholders & vendors
Key Candidate Requirements
Mandatory (Must-Have)
- Certifications (at least one):
- AWS Solutions Architect (Professional)
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Kubernetes Administrator
- Experience:
- 10+ years: Enterprise IT infrastructure
- 10+ years: Windows/Linux server administration
- 5+ years: Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- 5+ years: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, etc.)
- 5+ years: Automation scripting (Python, Go, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in:
- Monitoring, incident management
- Cloud operations & support
Nice-to-Have
- Public sector (State/Federal) experience
- Kubernetes, Docker, serverless architecture
- Disaster recovery tools (e.g., Veeam)
- Virtualization (Hyper-V)
- Security & patching tools (e.g., Tanium)
- Architecture design for scalability & cost optimization
