Location: Shelbyville, IL
Pay: $25.00 - $26.00

We are seeking an experienced Quality Lead to play a critical role in ensuring painted products meet customer specifications and quality standards before shipment. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong manufacturing quality and experience identifying paint and cosmetic defects.
As the Quality Lead, you will work closely with production teams to inspect finished products, perform quality testing, document results, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support customer satisfaction and operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform final inspections of painted and finished products to ensure compliance with customer and company quality standards
- Identify and document paint and cosmetic defects, including runs, drips, orange peel, gloss variations, contamination, and coating inconsistencies
- Conduct adhesion testing and measure coating thickness using mil gauges
- Verify gloss levels and finish quality using gloss meters and related inspection tools
- Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and quality documentation
- Prepare reports and review quality metrics using Microsoft Office applications
- Collaborate with production personnel to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process consistency
- Verify products meet specifications and shipment requirements prior to release
- Promote adherence to quality procedures, safety standards, and customer requirements
QualificationsRequired
- 3+ years of quality inspection experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong visual inspection skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Experience documenting inspection findings and maintaining quality records
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred
- Experience inspecting painted, coated, or finished products
- Knowledge of adhesion testing methods, mil gauges, and gloss meters
- Understanding of paint application, curing, and finishing processes
- Familiarity with quality systems, SOPs, and customer specifications
- Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience
Schedule
Training Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (1st Shift)
Permanent Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (2nd Shift)
Overtime and occasional Saturdays may be required based on production demands.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
