Alliance Workforce Solutions has partnered with a growing, highly established defense and manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Cybersecurity & IT Security Manager to join their team.

This is a confidential search for a security professional who can take ownership of cybersecurity compliance, risk management, DoD requirements, and security initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on technical knowledge along with the ability to work with leadership, IT teams, government agencies, auditors, and external partners.

What You'll Do

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Lead cybersecurity programs supporting federal and Department of Defense requirements.
  • Develop and maintain security controls aligned with NIST, DFARS, CMMC, and other applicable federal standards.
  • Evaluate systems and technologies for security and compliance risks.
  • Perform security gap assessments and develop practical remediation plans.
  • Track corrective actions through completion.

CMMC & Security Program Management

  • Support the organization's ongoing CMMC readiness and compliance efforts.
  • Establish and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Help strengthen the organization's overall security posture through continuous improvement.
  • Ensure security requirements are incorporated into new technology implementations and IT projects.

DoD & Classified Environment Support

  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities associated with classified systems.
  • Coordinate security authorization and assessment activities involving government requirements.
  • Work closely with the Facility Security Officer and other internal stakeholders on security-related initiatives.
  • Assist with interactions involving government agencies, customers, auditors, and third-party security providers.

Security Operations

  • Monitor systems and security controls for potential vulnerabilities, threats, and insider-risk indicators.
  • Participate in cybersecurity investigations, incident response, and forensic activities.
  • Assist with firewall and network security configuration and oversight.
  • Support the development and management of security infrastructure.
  • Help ensure cloud services, servers, applications, and other technology environments meet security requirements.

Leadership & Communication

  • Partner with IT and business teams to develop secure technology solutions.
  • Translate complex cybersecurity requirements into clear recommendations for management.
  • Provide leadership with regular updates regarding security initiatives, risks, compliance status, and project timelines.
  • Assist with cybersecurity awareness and training programs for employees.
  • Identify opportunities to improve security processes, technology, and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of IT experience, including significant experience in cybersecurity/security management; OR
  • Master's degree in a related field with 5+ years of professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting IT requirements associated with DoD contracts.
  • Experience working with federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of NIST, CMMC, DFARS, RMF, and related DoD security requirements.
  • Experience with cloud environments, web-based applications, servers, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of areas such as threat detection, threat modeling, digital forensics, phishing defense, penetration testing, and incident response.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense organizations is highly desirable.
  • IAM Level II or IAT Level III certification is preferred.

Clearance & Eligibility

  • Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Must meet U.S. Person/ITAR eligibility requirements.
  • Professional-level English communication skills are required.

Work Environment

  • Primarily an on-site position within a professional manufacturing/technology environment.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs.
  • Position involves extended computer and desk work as well as movement throughout the facility.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation for critical IT/security emergencies may be required.
