Title: Software Engineer (Workday Extend Compensation)

Location: Charlotte, NC / Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid)
Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months

About the job:
The Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) team delivers technology that supports employee-focused applications and processes. As a Lead Software Engineer on the Compensation product team, you will build compliant Workday Extend solutions for critical US and global compensation projects. You will work in an Agile environment, delivering incremental improvements to the product. You will also serve as a technical leader and escalation point, guiding less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within your technical domain.
  • Support planning and sizing of development items for sprints, and contribute to larger-scale strategy planning.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document solutions for projects and programs, including upgrades and deployments.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain Workday integrations for assigned products.
  • Evaluate moderately complex technical challenges that require in-depth analysis of technologies and procedures.
  • Resolve complex issues and lead the team to meet current and future business needs, while applying a solid understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve shared goals.
  • Act as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced team members.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Workday Compensation or another HR system's compensation module.
  • Experience with SAS, SQL, or other data management, reporting, and query tools.
  • Experience with Adaptive Planning, including workforce planning, modeling, sheets, reports, and dashboards.
  • Knowledge of Adaptive security, including permission sets, user groups, and access rules.
  • Experience setting up integrations between HCM and Adaptive, including user sync and SSO.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to take initiative, own outcomes, and shift priorities as workload demands.
