Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and mechanical devices to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. The Maintenance Technician works with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems, including PLCs and servo drives, and supports both preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Observe mechanical devices in operation to ensure performance aligns with equipment specifications and production requirements.
- Work with production machines driven by hydraulic pressure, understanding their operation and maintenance needs.
- Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to maintain and repair equipment components.
- Dismantle devices and equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts safely and efficiently.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements and identify wear or damage.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments to restore proper operation and performance.
- Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools, methods, and replacement components.
- Install special functional and structural parts in devices to improve performance or restore functionality.
- Clean, lubricate, and service parts and assemblies to support optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Start devices and equipment to test performance after repair or adjustment, verifying correct operation.
- Assist with the dismantling and installation of equipment, including moving, positioning, and securing machinery.
- Advise maintenance leadership on parts that need to be ordered to support ongoing repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Recommend components to be maintained in inventory to reduce equipment downtime and improve maintenance responsiveness.
- Evaluate PLCs, PCs, and servo drives by testing with a multimeter, identifying problems, and repairing or replacing necessary parts.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and controls.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to reduce breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to quickly identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Use welding and fabricating skills to repair or modify equipment structures and components as needed.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other job-specific equipment to access work areas and move materials safely.
- Follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals while completing all assigned tasks.
- Document maintenance activities and repairs through routine reports and records as required.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned to support maintenance operations and facility reliability.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of related maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including experience with troubleshooting and repairing production machinery.
- Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance practices for industrial equipment.
- Ability to understand and work with hydraulic systems and basic hydraulics.
- Ability to understand and work with pneumatic systems and basic pneumatics.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including diagnosing issues in motors, controls, and wiring.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and the ability to evaluate PLCs, PCs, and servo drives using a multimeter.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams.
- Skill in using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Capability to weld and fabricate parts and structures to support equipment repair and modification.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and document maintenance activities clearly and accurately.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry in practical maintenance situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience performing welding and fabricating tasks to repair or modify equipment components.
- Comfort using multimeters and other diagnostic tools to test electrical and electronic equipment.
- Ability to drive and operate a forklift, scissor lift, or other job-specific equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting parts and equipment for wear, damage, and dimensional changes.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with maintenance leadership and production staff regarding equipment status and parts needs.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance tasks and prioritize work to minimize downtime.

Work Environment
The position operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The work is performed in an industrial setting with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $83200.00/yr.
