Job Description

Summary

Wiggin and Dana LLP is looking for an Integration & Training Specialist to join the firm’s Professional Development (PD) department. This position can be based in our New Haven or Stamford office. The Specialist will coordinate all new hire integration, will manage lawyer engagement initiatives, support the firm’s mentoring programs, and provide logistical support for PD programming and affinity bar event logistics.

Job Duties

The following are essential job duties and responsibilities of the Integration & Training Specialist. This list is not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Integration

  • Coordinates all aspects of orientation for new hires.
  • Develops individualized integration plans.
  • Supports lateral partner integration in partnership with the Chief PD Officer.
  • Conducts structured integration check-ins.

Engagement

  • Manage internal lawyer engagement initiatives, including touchpoints, engagement programming, and connection‑building activities.
  • Support mentoring programs with the DEI & Development Manager.
  • Track participation, engagement, and follow‑up actions.
  • Assist with PD department event planning (retreats, engagement events, award celebrations).

Professional Development Support

  • Coordinate PD event logistics including CLE support, scheduling, and speaker coordination.
  • Prepare materials, manage attendance, and support communications.
  • Maintain PD calendars and track program participation.

DRIVE Initiatives

  • Support the firm’s Drive People Groups
  • Support affinity bar events through internal logistics, communications, and coordination.
  • Ensure alignment with DEI and PD goals.
  • Some external event attendance required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in professional development, legal operations, or event coordination preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to other offices as needed.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills.


Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a basic understanding of law firm practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and engaging, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, creative, entrepreneurial, team-based culture.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. Knowledge of CRMs, email software and proposal software a plus.
