Role Description The Maintenance Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Conroe, TX. This position supports daily property maintenance activities, including inspecting building interiors and exteriors, performing routine repairs, and assisting with preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Assistant helps troubleshoot minor issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems, and promptly reports complex problems to senior maintenance staff or management. Responsibilities include maintaining common areas, make readies, using basic hand and power tools safely, following work orders and maintenance schedules, and communicating clearly with residents, vendors, and colleagues. The role also involves adhering to safety standards, keeping maintenance records up to date, and supporting emergency response for urgent repair needs.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational skills in Maintenance and Building Maintenance, with experience in general repairs and facility upkeep.

• Ability to perform Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient operation of building systems.

\n

• Effective Communication skills for interacting with residents, team members, and external vendors in a professional manner.

\n

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems; ability to use hand and power tools safely.

\n

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in property or facilities maintenance is preferred.

\n

• Ability to lift moderate loads, stand and walk for extended periods, and work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.

\n

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions, work independently, and prioritize multiple tasks.

\n

• Willingness to work a full-time schedule on-site in Conroe, TX, with occasional flexibility for after-hours or emergency calls.
