Job Description

Job Description

Portland, Oregon | Full time | $90,000–$150,000 target annual earnings. Base pay + commission. Actual earnings depend on sales performance.

Help homeowners see what’s possible.

An uncomfortable home. High energy bills. A heating system that needs replacing. As a Home Performance Consultant, you’ll help homeowners understand their options and choose improvements that make a difference.

At GreenSavers, you’ll combine hands-on home assessments with consultative sales, guiding each customer from the first appointment through proposal, contract signing, and handoff to our production team.

A sales role grounded in the work

You’ll regularly visit residential jobsites and enter attics, crawl spaces, and other tight or uncomfortable areas to assess conditions and prepare accurate estimates. Understanding the home is an essential part of recommending the right work.

We provide leads. You bring the initiative to follow up, ask for the sale, build referrals, and keep your pipeline moving. You’ll work toward monthly sales targets while earning customers’ trust through clear recommendations and reliable follow-through.

What you’ll do

  • Meet homeowners, understand their priorities and budget, and complete home energy consultations, audits, and estimates.
  • Work with sales support to prepare accurate reports and proposals; deliver proposals within three business days of the appointment.
  • Explain scope, pricing, incentives, and financing; secure signed agreements and coordinate deposits or financing follow-up.
  • Keep customer records, project documentation, and your sales pipeline current.
  • Hand off complete project details to production and respond to questions through installation and any needed quality assurance.

What success looks like

You’ll begin by shadowing experienced consultants and gradually take on more appointments. Success means accurate assessments, timely proposals, responsive customer communication, and complete production handoffs. As you ramp up, you’ll build your pipeline and progress toward monthly sales goals.

Why GreenSavers

We help homeowners improve comfort and energy efficiency. Our mission is to improve lives, inspire our team, and serve our communities by building in a better, more holistic way.

We value people who take pride in their work, help their teammates, and keep learning. As we grow, you’ll have opportunities to contribute ideas and improve how we serve customers.

Based in Portland, Oregon. Full time, reporting to the Sales Manager. Standard weekday business hours; evenings and weekends are generally not expected. Travel to customers’ homes is part of the role.

Requirements What you’ll bring

  • Strong listening, relationship-building, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organization and follow-through to manage appointments, proposals, paperwork, and customer questions.
  • Motivation to meet sales targets, ask for the sale, and develop opportunities beyond the first conversation.
  • Comfort using digital tools and maintaining accurate customer and project records.
  • Respect for customers’ homes and for colleagues across sales, support, and production.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for customer visits.
  • Ability to regularly access attics and crawl spaces and work in residential jobsite conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Experience we value

Sales experience in residential construction or HVAC is preferred. Around three years of successful sales or customer service experience, in-home consultative sales, or familiarity with home energy efficiency would be helpful.

If your experience is different but your strengths fit the work, we encourage you to apply.
