The Senior Power BI Data Reports Engineer is a key contributor responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing business intelligence solutions primarily using Power BI and associated Microsoft BI tools. This role demands strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and translate business requirements into robust reporting solutions. Expertise in migrating reports, working with relational databases, and supporting data integration processes is essential to drive insightful data delivery across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with non-technical customers and subject-matter experts to gather and analyze requirements and improve reporting solutions.
- Lead migration of SSRS reports from on-premises SharePoint sites to a centralized Reports Portal.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain reports using Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, and other BI tools.
- Support and optimize SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages for data collection and integration.
- Analyze and optimize relational database structures and SQL queries for efficient report generation.
- Document technical developments and maintain updated developer reference materials.
- Work independently to manage projects and deliver solutions without requiring close supervision.
- Interface effectively with clients as a team player owning project outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and certifications.
- Extensive experience developing business intelligence solutions within SharePoint using Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, Report Builder, Visual Studio BI tools, and SharePoint Designer.
- Strong ability in report development and writing SQL queries on relational databases such as MS SQL Server and Oracle.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of database design fundamentals including table design, normalization, query writing, and optimization.
- Proven ability to analyze data across multiple sources and validate information accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in business intelligence development.
