WC Smith is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Collective. This individual is responsible for the successful execution of maintenance tickets and addressing resident maintenance concerns. Our Maintenance Technicians are passionate about providing high-quality service to residents and are critical in maintaining our properties to the highest standard. THE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN WILL:
- Complete apartment turnovers to prepare vacant units for new residents.
- Complete and submit maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
- Maintain property security by ensuring building and apartment doors are properly secured.
- Maintain the required property uniform and uphold a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Provide courteous, helpful, and professional service while working in occupied apartments.
- Assist with preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and building operating systems.
- Perform appliance repairs, including washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, and garbage disposals.
- Notify management of maintenance concerns and repair needs throughout the property.
- Assist with maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Keep workshops, maintenance areas, and utility rooms clean and organized.
- Assist with snow removal as needed.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as part of the rotating on-call schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
A LEADING APPLICANT HAS:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential property maintenance.
- Availability for on-call emergencies on a rotating schedule.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic maintenance and repair, including the tools and equipment used to perform this work.
- Knowledge of maintenance and repair tasks in areas such as turnovers, appliances, plumbing, electrical, locks, carpentry, painting, fire alarm panels, landscaping, and plant care.
- Awareness of and ability to operate within OSHA standards.
- Ability to adapt to the various needs of an older property.
- Strong customer service and communication skills when working with residents.
- Basic computer skills; previous Yardi experience is a plus, but not required.
- Previous leadership experience is a plus, but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, 8 hours or more per day, and perform physical activities including bending, climbing step ladders and stairs, lifting, carrying, grasping, gripping, turning, reaching above shoulders, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting, and kneeling.
