Maintenance Assistant

Cedar Haven Health Care Center is seeking a dependable and experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This full-time, on-site role is essential to maintaining a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Weekdays: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

1 Day During Week: 11 AM - 7:00 PM

Every Other Weekend (EOW)

Every Other Holiday (EOH)

Shift Differential Available
Key Responsibilities
-
Perform general facility maintenance, including repairs to walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, and windows
-
Complete drywall repair, patching, painting, and basic carpentry work
-
Handle routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs
-
Move and arrange furniture as needed to complete assignments
-
Coordinate maintenance activities with nursing staff when working in resident care areas
-
Follow established maintenance schedules, policies, and procedures
-
Maintain facility grounds, including mowing, trimming, sweeping, and general upkeep
-
Replace light bulbs, including exit and overhead lighting
-
Assist with the Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure all systems remain operational
-
Respond to unscheduled or emergency maintenance requests as needed
Qualifications
-
Prior experience in general maintenance and mechanical work required
-
Experience with drilling, wall repair, and painting required
-
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
-
Valid driver’s license required
